Today we had a media photoshoot before our actual rehearsal began. I could not be in the first part of the photoshoot, however, because the tan jazz shoes that I ordered for the finale costumes haven’t arrived yet. So everyone who had their tan jazz shoes and costume fit got to be in the finale look, but I did not. I’m not upset or anything by it - I know we’ll take more than enough photos. I am a little jealous, though, seeing everyone post cool pictures of themselves on social media in their finale costumes. I did make it in the ‘rehearsal candid’ photoshoot though! They took pictures and filmed us doing the opening combination a couple of times, so maybe I’ll show up in one of those photos.
Today’s rehearsal was very successful. We finally finished the montage and went back to clean the beginning. There were a couple of parts throughout that needed to clarified, so Emily cleared up any confusion on the specificity of the combo. We actually ran through each part of the montage all the way through``, which felt like a huge achievement to the whole cast. We all applauded Emily and ourselves for getting through it. Because Priscilla Beach Theatre hosts a children’s theatre workshop, we have to adapt our schedule to also accommodate the children. Thus, we were released today at 4pm, about two hours before we usually are rehearsed. We do start earlier than 1pm to make up for it, but still, I’ve noticed that by getting done earlier in the day our focus is sharper during rehearsal and we are able to progress without having to repeat things endlessly.
Today I achieved performing my montage with no mistakes and confidence. I learned to reinvest my focus into the work. Next rehearsal, I will work harder to remain focused. I can better prepare for rehearsal by reviewing the lyrics for One, to make sure I know when exactly I come in and should cut off.
