Lead with Integrity
At the beginning of the New Year, I had the amazing opportunity and privilege to participate in a program called Leadershape. During the past year, I heard nothing but stellar reviews of Leadershape. Some people said, “It will change your life!” and others mentioned, “You stay friends with the people you meet there forever!”. Remembering my desire to find ways to involve myself on UC in engaging and meaningful ways, I decided to attend.
As we boarded the bus before noon on January 4, most of us were pretty sleepy, and it felt awkward trying to strike up conversation with people I barely knew. By dinner that night, the ice was thoroughly broken. I felt excited to get to know the other students, and I felt that reciprocated by many others throughout the week.
Through activities and exercises designed to trust each other and reflect on our personal values and actions, we learned what we were truly passionate about. I discovered how much more active I can be on campus; I owed it to the values I identified with and myself. Each of the participants at Leadershape had an idea, a belief, and something valuable to contribute to the group. In reflection, I discovered that we all have the potential to make a significant change in society, but only if we remain loyal to our collaborators and ourselves. By doing so, we empower ourselves to challenge the status quo and lead with integrity.

Here you can see my headline for tomorrow, or my vision. I identify with a plant-based lifestyle and all the benefits it can bring to society. This headline reflects that.
I created a "Breakthrough Blueprint" or an outline to reflect upon as I strive to make my vision a reality.
