Today was a really productive today. I got up around 7:30am and decided to run around the neighborhood, which put me in a really good mood. Afterwards, I drove to the gym and worked out. I can’t wait to get out and explore a little bit more of Plymouth and the Cape; there seems to be so many things to simply observe here. It’s all so different than what I’m used to - maybe that’s why I’m fascinated with my surroundings. Everywhere I go here gives me a small-town feel and everyone is so affable; I feel so refreshed.
Today's rehearsal was also very productive and tiring. We finished staging/learning the choreography for the opening "I Hope I Get It". I improved upon the choreo that I learned yesterday, so I was able to focus on bringing my character to the work. By the end of the day, everyone was exhausted and I know I wasn’t the only one with sore legs and feet. However, it was worth it, because I achieved improvement today. I learned how to work through soreness and to commit to dancing full out despite the pain in my body. Next rehearsal, I’m going to look at my harmonies again beforehand. I found that my memory of the vocal parts at the end of the song got a little hazy and pulled my focus away from dancing.
Overall, I’m really enjoying my time here at Priscilla Beach Theatre. I feel like I have been here for much longer than five days. This is going to be a fantastic summer.
