What would you change about your UC experience?
If I had to change one thing about my experience with the University of Cincinnati so far, I would go back and start my freshmen year over so that I could connect to my classmates better. I feel like I could be closer friends with some of them had I take the initiative last year. Also, I would've tried to get involved around UC during my first semester, as I've met some fantastic and driven people through different clubs and organizations like CCM Tribunal, the Honors Program, and ,of course, ROAR.
What wouldn't I trade for anything?
I wouldn't trade my relationship with Skye Cone for anything. We've known each other since freshmen year of high school and started dating during our senior year. After a year of long distance, she transferred to UC. Our past means we were friends before we were in a relationship, and that still proves true today. We support each other and stand by the other's side every day. We challenge each other and forgive each other. I think those elements in a relationship are very rare.
What story can't I wait to tell as a tour guide?
I've made so many memories here at UC, but one that sticks out in my mind is the night all-nighter I pulled for Relay For Life. Yep, I stuck it out from near the beginning of the event to the wee hours of the morning, huddling in a tent, wrapped with blankets and about five layers of clothing. The cold wind constantly howled outside of our tent as if it wanted to get inside - as soon as I drifted off to sleep, it redoubled its efforts and I would wake up shivering. Finally, our small group decided to move into TUC so that we might feel our fingers again. We ended up staying there until the end of our shift.
I think what this story demonstrates is the indomitable spirit of the average Bearcat. I wasn't the only one doing this; there were many other groups of people roughing it. But we all stuck it out, and for a great cause too.
Update on Goals:
Still learning to live with less, however I have exercised more frequently in the last two weeks than any other week in the semester, and I've been using my planner more often which has increased my productivity.
