Today was a just a simple, relaxing day. My family and I went out snorkeling and then my sister and I rode around on jet skis in the afternoon. While we snorkeled, we saw some different marine wildlife and more interesting coral variations. After we snorkeled, we sat on the beach, relaxing for about an hour. Then, my sister and I went out with a jet ski tour guide, and we sped through the waters, racing each other and just having fun.
I think the resorts in this area do a good job of balancing their reliance on tourism and the safety and security of the Reef. We’re advised never to touch the coral, and it seems most everyone who comes can respect the fragility of the reef. There’s nothing quite like this in the United States, but I’m sure if there was, people would be fighting to protect it as fiercely as they do here.
The next day, we packed up our clothes and took a flight back to Sydney in order to take an international flight home to Los Angeles, and then back to Las Vegas.
